Hi Leyn! =)
Hehe. Anyways, may problema kasi ako. Kakapagupit ko lang kasi ng buhok. (see attached picture) And this time I decided na magpagupit ng as in maiksi. Naiinggit kasi ako sa buhok ni Nina. Haha! Last time ata na ganito kaiksi ang buhok ko eh nuong college ako. Since then, pinahaba ko na ang buhok ko.
The day na nagpagupit ako, gustong-gusto ko ung itsura ng buhok ko. Mega style kasi nung naggupit. Here comes the problem – naisip ko lang kasi. I’ve stried styling it on my own pero failure.
Haha. Pero sana ganun ako kayaman. LOL.
Thanks for reading my email & more power to Sosyalera. =)

Dear Karmi,
I hope by the time I post my answer, sana hindi pa mahaba ang buhok mo. Haha. Anyway, I’m not a Pro when it comes to hair styling and maintenance, but since I’m still updated with hair vanity, I can just attest to some methods I’ve tried before.
It’s natural that our hair looks at its best after going through a salon haircut. Of course, our stylists won’t leave it unpleasant but its maintenance is all up to you. Some people effortlessly fix their hair because their hair type is ‘fine’. Unlike with some people who have the ‘coarse’ type, which needs the aid of hair styling products just to achieve a desired form…

One time I was roaming around in National Bookstore to buy something. I noticed that one bookshelf contains some Tagalog Pocketbooks like the Precious Hearts Romances brand. I told myself, ‘uy, eto yung nasa TV a’. So I opened one of them wondering how their stories are written. Some people passing my side were smiling as they see me reading the pocketbook. Siguro kasi parang anjologs lang. But then I realized that the cover has a picture of a naked man with Machete muscles. Nyaaaah. Nakakahiya!
Kissing couples? Bed scene?

“People call me ‘Enchong,’ but you can call me ‘yours.’”

Haha. Kaya mag ice breaker muna tayo.
This is one confusing optical illusion spreading across the internet. I know it was created years ago, but I’m still confused. Can you tell which direction this woman is spinning? Clockwise or counterclockwise? After few seconds, it just miraculously switches on the other direction.
Whatevs, let the geeks handle the explaining. The End.
Haha.

Forevermore, Till There Was You, My First Romance, Let The Love Begin, Now That I Have You, Can This Be Love, Don’t Give Up on Us, Close to You, All About Love, You Are the One, I’ve Fallen For You, When Love Begins, Till I Met You, A Very Special Love, Love Me Again, You Changed My Life, And I Love You So…
Now I’m really looking forward to that rumored Ninoy-Cory Movie project, para maiba naman. I hope the producers give justice to an inspiring life story of modern heroes. Wish ko lang, hindi Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree ang title ng pelikula.
Wenk!

Dear sweet16,
JS Prom is a much awaited High School event aside from Graduation. It’s good that you’re already looking forward to this day and by now planning on your prom dress. First, you have to know what the ‘usual’ prom dresses are so you can make a difference. Try to consult friends with their fashion ideas because prom themes also depend on your school’s culture. Some themes might require you to look modern, and some schools only allow the conservative type of party clothing.

Have you been ignoring Lucky Me instant noodles or other local goods over imported chips and chocolates? Well it’s time for you to know some Made in the Philippines products’ foreign worth. My sister from US sent me some pictures of popular Pinoy products and their equivalent dollar value.
No wonder Filipinos abroad have been so eager to eat or buy local brands once they come back home. I can’t believe that a serving of Pancit Canton can cost similarly to a platter of Steak.
So what’s my point? Let’s not be too choosy and pa-conyo with what we eat. Experience Filipino street foods and try pang-masa meals as part of our daily life. You might have rare chance to eat them someday; unless you’re willing to spend dollars just for a cup of taho.
BTW, thanks again to thoughtful readers who sent in their messages after my anniv post. You guys made my day. Thank you, and much love.

I was actually thinking for daaaaays on what’s a creative blog anniversary post. I don’t have enough guts to video capture myself for a vlog; my partner for my podcast segment is busy and I feel stupid doing it alone; and I definitely won’t spend money for a blog contest… So for short, I have nothing to offer but a Happy Anniversary Sosyalera.net greeting.
Anyhow, after overcoming the just-5-pageviews-per-day stage and lame criticisms from some blogstar wannabes for the past year, I just realized it’s not about the numbers but loyal people who appreciate your ideas. Sounds cheesy but I’m touched whenever I receive compliment e-mails telling that my blog gave them a good laugh or I inspired them to organize their closet. I don’t have a comment box because it only takes seconds to make pambobola how nice your blog is, but it will take minutes and effort opening your email account just to send an appreciation message. It means a lot to me. In fact, I was undecided if I should extend my domain for another year but because of your continued support, my blog might still be running longer.
That’s it! Short but sweet. Maybe I’ll just consider vlogging next year.

The Nation just lost a mother.
I woke up late since it’s a Saturday and to my dismay, it’s all over the news that former President Cory died at 3:18am. How unfortunate it is when a noble icon dies at the middle of political crisis. Then again, ordinary people who sympathize don’t care much about how she worked with politics because she was not even perfect during her regime. Personally speaking, it’s quite heartbreaking not just because someone who advocated democracy is gone by now; but perhaps most of us are just touched with how she carries that peaceful smile, how she walks slowly as if she’s our own mom, and that hoping look on her thin face covered with wrinkles.
Kris Aquino might not have been a kind personality, but at least her mother is.
I’m still lucky I got to meet Cory before she died…
Maybe she was just too tired to speak that time.
Everyone loves her. We should go beyond grieving and give honor. That’s the least thing we can do.

Hi! I just saw your blog and all i can say is that i’m super happy because i have someone to ask for advice regarding my problem..
The thing is my friend is having her party at a bar and her theme is dress to impress. I know I should dress to impress just like anyone else but i want it to be the best-est (if there’s such term) this time. I want to dress perfectly for the occasion.
I stand 5′2 and have an okay body. Not too thin and not too fat. Also my friends know that I’m not that kikay type so i want to impress them this time. But the big problem is I am only a student and i don’t think i can afford to buy expensive clothes since i won’t wear them occasionally. Also, i want to wear something that is comfortable and would look the same throughout the night because there would be a lot of dancing and drinking.
I want to look simple yet elegant with all the make-up and all and not to look trying hard at the same time. I am also scared that there might be someone else in the party with the same dress as mine so i want to avoid that.
If it’s not too much, i also want to ask your help regarding make-up; on how to apply eye shadows that would fit perfectly for the occasion and not look too dramatic.
Looking forward to your advices.
-frustrated fashionista
Dear frustrated fashionista,
You won’t have hard time choosing attire for the party given that you have a good figure. From what I understand, you also want to dress differently this time without neglecting comfort and budget. Actually, I just have two styles in my mind after reading your e-mail so I hope my ideas will help you a bit.
Since bodycons are one of this season’s trends, the style would be perfect for an evening party – cocktail, dance or dinner. Buying a piece won’t even hurt your pocket because mall boutiques have them in stock or even your friendly ukay-ukay. The secret is just to look for the perfect one that fits you well.
