Food as Fashion

Fashion and Food indeed don’t go together because models starve themselves just to fit in a size 0 dress so it’s ironic to combine them in one idea. But to photographer Fulvio Bonavia, it’s possible. Here are some of his photos from his latest concept shoot – A matter of taste.

A Raspberry Bag

Pasta Belt

Rice Boots

Chocolate Earrings

The Broccoli Bag

Cashew Sandals

Yum yum yum!

Designer Lollipops

Coincidentally, I found something interesting that’s related to my previous post.

If you can’t buy the bag, buy its candy version instead…

These are very very cute and tasty designer lollipops from photographer Massimo Gammacurta’s concept – Chanel, LV, Gucci and YSL made edible.

For candy companies out there, I don’t care if you get sued (lol) but please come up with something like this. These lollipops are perfect for people who want to get their high end fashion fix on a sari-sari store budget. Like 10 pesos Chanel? Not bad ah! Haha.

Made in the Philippines

Have you been ignoring Lucky Me instant noodles or other local goods over imported chips and chocolates? Well it’s time for you to know some Made in the Philippines products’ foreign worth. My sister from US sent me some pictures of popular Pinoy products and their equivalent dollar value.

No wonder Filipinos abroad have been so eager to eat or buy local brands once they come back home. I can’t believe that a serving of Pancit Canton can cost similarly to a platter of Steak.

So what’s my point? Let’s not be too choosy and pa-conyo with what we eat. Experience Filipino street foods and try pang-masa meals as part of our daily life. You might have rare chance to eat them someday; unless you’re willing to spend dollars just for a cup of taho.

BTW, thanks again to thoughtful readers who sent in their messages after my anniv post. You guys made my day. Thank you, and much love. :)

I Drink Water. Therefore, I’m Rich.

Last weekend, my best bud treated me porkchops for dinner. Habang bonggang bongga kong nginunguya ang aking pork ay in need ako ng panulak. A bottle of water on our table caught my attention, so I asked him the price, it’s 230php pala. Ganito na pala ang presyo ng tubig ngayon? Kaya ayun, napalunok nalang ako ng laway.

I understand, modern bottled water has more minerals, some ionized or came from the mountains i’m-not-familiar-with; which make them costly. Perfect for health concious people or for those who simply don’t care about the price of what they drink. Sa palagay ko, hindi dapat gawing mala-Frap ang pricey bottled water o gawin itong status indicator…

…one time kasi ay kumakain ako sa Mcdo at may 2 nagkukwentuhang JJs* sa tapat ng table ko. One of them was holding an Evian Mineral Water at paunti-unti pa nya itong iniinom. And obviously, her gestures were like – look people, I’m drinking Evian.

Yak. If I know, one time lang sya bumili at nirerefill nya lang yung bote. Wahaha.

Matatanggap ko pa kung bling h20 pa yun, which so far is the most expensive water. Kaya sa mga nagtatago at pinagkaka-ingat ingatan ang kanilang mga branded na bote ng tubig, isang malaking L-word para sa inyo.

LAGOK!
