Glam Looks for Christmas

Christmas Parties are being held here and there. It’s a pain in the ass to look for the perfect party dress but it feels exciting at the same time. I think it’s not just about the dress but how you style yourself.

Here are some in trend fashion inspirations you can try (on top of your selected dress and shoes):

Pearls in the locks

A simple hairdo like down straight can shine with a jeweled headband. Or just make a bun, add some volume to your loose waves and put on a sparkly headpiece.

Smokey Eyes

Rougher, brighter, or patterned smokey eyes will steal all the attention for you. But applying too much eye shadow can make you look like a panda. Match the shades with the party dress you’ll wear.

Falsies and K-pop Fashion

Colored contact lenses, frosty shadows and bright cheeks can be your options. Just don’t overdo it.

Red Velvet Lips

Kung medyo pa-kyut ang K-pop para sayo, then you might want to be a bit daring for the party. All kinds of red are top-trendy this season, so no matter which tone you choose it only matters how it looks on you and matches your skin tone and hair color.

Wavy hair

Forget about the Goldilocks curls, and uso ngayon ay slight na kulot lang. Use rollers for loose curls and curling iron for waves. To achieve retro look sweep your curls behind your ear at one side and leave the other to frame your face.

Happy partying! :)

Mirror Mirror

Dear Sosyalera,

jamie

Dear Jamie,

Isang malaking LOL para sa iyong problema. Hindi dahil nakakatawa but I know a lot of people can relate to your problem. Actually, I already realized this, way before I’ve been taking pictures of myself.

For everyone, do a little experiment, if you want to know what you actually look like in front of other people, make a video of yourself then watch it afterwards – ang itsura nyo sa video ang katotohanan. It’s because the video can show our different expressions at different angles. Unlike in the mirror, pwede kang mag-project, pwede ka umanggulo. Samantalang sa video, wala kang takas.

Another one, try to look for a digital picture that you think you really look good. Tipong picture perfect. Then open our lifesaver Adobe Photoshop and mirror the image horizontally. So what happened? Pwedeng mabago ang itsura mo, nawala sa anggulo, o parang hindi bagay compared to the original position of the image. This is what happens in reality, a photograph is the image other people see when they look at you.

Kung naka yabang DSLR ka naman, it might be because of the distortion due to the lens. There are camera lenses that gives you this lollipop effect that can make your head bigger and stretched compared to what you actually see. Though whatever camera you’re using, if you still feel ugly than what you see on the mirror, then you have to accept the fact that you’re not photogenic. Lol.

So my answer is, the mirror can be deceiving. Mas maniwala ka sa sa litrato. That’s why pretty girls and boys with balanced face symmetry are lucky because they look fine even on different angles – hindi na kailangan itaas ang camera phone para gumanda ang anggulo tuwing pipicturan. That’s the reason why you have to submit a VTR when you want to audition for a commercial. You might be pretty, but not everyone has the perfect projection. :)

I hope that helped you a bit. Lol.

Love Lots,

Leyn

Well looking at the planners for this year, parang nothing special naman. Yet a lot of people want to have it. If you compute for the actual price of the planner, it’s equals to 17 starbucks drinks costing more than 2k pesos. Katumbas na ito ng 2 planner from Fully Booked at 10 black organizers from National Bookstore.

Most people don’t actually use the planner, pinang-didisplay lang. IMO, nothing special ang SB planners this year. The thrill of collecting the Starbucks stickers is like how you feel when you level up on Farmville. We are addicted to numbers. And lastly, because Pinoys are brand conscious, Starbucks eh.

Jeje.

What Men Think About Fashion

Naturally, women have more fashion sense than men. Most straight guys aren’t that conscious with fashion trends and clothing. Us girls are more conscious with regards to clothing and style. We make sure to know the latest trends yet we can still manage to wear clothes that are practical and comfortable. But aren’t you curious with what men actually think about what we wear? Especially the latest fashions?

According to Men’s Health magazine, blogs and remarks from my guy friends, just because a fashion is trendy, it doesn’t mean that boys actually like it for girls:

Most guys don’t appreciate head scarves. Kahit Hermes scarf pa ‘yan, the price doesn’t attract them.

Bold necklaces and bracelets are hip but men prefer fewer accessories like thin jewelries or a pair of pearl earrings.

About pants, men think that boyish trousers and high waist pants are more appropriate to be worn as office attire instead of wearing them during casual days. Of course they’d like to see girls in sexier bottoms like skinny or stretch jeans.

100 % of men like women in dresses or skirts. Dresses bring out the feminine side of a woman. I’d recommend that girls should wear dresses on their first date. Only 25 % of men like maxi dresses. Siguro dahil mukhang daster.

Because tunics don’t flatter a woman’s shape, only a few men like tunics.

Men prefer clothes with simpler or plain prints than bold patterns.

Guys are turned on with girls wearing the boyfriend shirt which is better paired off with mini shorts.

Obviously, most men like styles that are a bit sexy and womanly. Lol. These are just reminders for girls who want to dress up and impress their dates. But also remember that we have our unique style and fashion. Be yourself and your guy will like you. :D
