Styling Your Legs

Hi,

I’ve been reading your blog and the letters that were sent to you and this inspired me to ask mine as well.

I’m going to ask about fashion, balak ko kasing gumastos ng 3k for clothing this month, like a super belated birthday gift for myself. I want to maximize my budget so I don’t really care about brands and I’d go for ukay. Though, I don’t know what is appropriate for me, I’m 15 and I usually just dress up when I go somewhere and I MIGHT be studying in a ‘no-uniform’ university next year so I guess this is a start. :)

I’m interested in those, I think stockings?, yeah, those. But I can’t find cheap enough pieces so I could buy at least three.I’m also inlove with heels at this moment.

To give you a gist of my style, Little J’s outfit nung binigyan siya ni Serena ng party. The dress, the dark stockings and pink heels. But I think walking in the streets of Manila, I’d be the center of attention. GAH.

So I need, a list for a 3k budget.
Where to of the stockings, I think?
And what style is age-appropriate.

So please, help?

Dear ohblackstars,

Cherish your youth and teen years. Your age is actually the best time for you to start exploring fashion and girly style. I also adore how Little J dresses but with my mid 20’s age I’m quite hesitant to be in her teeny fashion – unless I want to achieve a pa bagets look. ;(

Anyway, 3k budget is a good start for your basics. For this entry, I’ll focus with the stockings. If you’re looking for printed and textured type, I suggest Leg Love by City Lady

Ang Mirror Shot

Vain people out there, meron na ba kayong Mirror Shot?

Of course…

And yours truly is one guilty bitch…

Ukay Ukay Baguio

For my friends: ito ang dahilan kung bakit hindi ako nakasama sa Matabungkay…

Hindi dahil sa aso! Ungas! Nasa Baguio ako…

…and since I’m already familiar with the sites here, I decided to dedicate my short weekend trip to window shop instead.

I was curious why Baguio is popular for its Ukay Ukay stores so I patiently checked for some good finds. I was actually surprised that a lot of things are authentic Prada, Burberry, Gucci etc. – though most of them are old and already used. :S

Just a warning for some Ukay shoppers; don’t be faked with some displayed high-priced items. I noticed that some designer bags are sold for 3k and above but after “scrutinizing” them, they’re just imitations.

It’s fun though. I think I consumed 3 hours roaming around the Ukay stores and I ended up buying 1 item for 100 pesos; which unfortunately, looked like an apron when I fitted it in the hotel.  Haha! Wretched. :(

Shoulder Pads & 80’s Look

I just realized that I’m a fan of vintage pin up girl trend after watching Lolita. I really find old school fashion colorful and flashy. Connecting to this, Shoulder Pads already made a comeback this year.

Shoulder pads remind me of 80’s movies and tv programs. Particularly some lady from McGayver or the Leading Ladies of local slapstick comedians and action stars…

Though with this fashion statement, I think I’ll pass. It’s not my type. Haha! Coincidentally, I can relate this with a video that’s currently making me laugh even if I watch it all over again. I know the vid’s already everywhere, but here it is anyway…

“The gayest man on earth would call this over the top…” Wahaha! Na-LSS na ko. :S

Artista Shades

I was wondering, why not try Scarf? Headband? o Baseball Cap para maiba naman?

Or maybe they just learned something when Kris Aquino appeared in public without make-up or shades with the Joey Marquez incident, she looked so ordinary…

Wahaha!

As if.

Kami Mismo!

Riiight?

So without any leaders’ help? What can we do?

Isa itong anti-apathy campaign which reminds everyone that progress should start with ourselves and blah blah…

at maaaring sila, wala ring maisip…
