Back to School Style

Hey there!

I just found your site this week and let me tell you, I love it already! Your advise about everything is super helpful and fashion forward that I can’t stop reading all of the articles.

I was hoping you could help me with my problem. I really need a wardrobe change so I’m planning on shopping soon before school starts. Can you give some places and shops that are unique and fashionable? I am so sick of buying clothes in the mall because several people might be buying the same thing as I am. I hope you can give me some stores around here in Metro Manila.

Thank you so much in advance and more power to your blog! :D

Lei

Dear Lei,

If it’s a school wardrobe you’re concerned with, I assume you have already browsed this entry about must have school attire closet. This can also help. :)

It’s quite vague, of course, I’m not sure what’s your fashion style and shopping budget. So for the benefit of all, I’ll be suggesting some places you might want to check out depending on your taste; not the ordinary department store or every teen’s boutique like bench and kamiseta…

Jennifer Behr Headbands

I was in awe while watching the season finale of Gossip Girl, my (so far) favorite series ever.  And for other fans, don’t you just love C and B back together? A boyfriend going to Paris just to buy your much-loved macaroons is such a fairy tale. Well aside from my chick flick feeling towards the episode, I can’t help but adore Blair’s Headbands since mean girls of Constance are about to say goodbye to headwraps because the new Queen Bee, Little J, says so.

Jargon ba? Haha.

Anyway, I did a little research about these accessories and they were all from jenniferbehr. Well nothing much, just sharing. I hope to find an-almost-like one somewhere instead of those ribbon headbands. Misyado na kasing pakalat kalat, parang shutter shades lang…

Spa Not Terrific: Wensha Spa Experience

I noticed on my blog tracker that a lot of people have been searching about Wensha Spa. Many of us really need to pamper ourselves after a stressful week of workloads and urban stress. I’ve been suggesting this wensha place with my previous letters since I heard it’s an affordable place of relaxation but I’ve never gone there until this weekend.

I tried the Foot Spa Terrific service for only 600php (including unlimited food and pool access). The word “Terrific” itself was kind of catchy kaya ayun, nabola ako. Lol. When I was already at seat for the service, I told the attendant “Foot Spa Terrific po” and she answered back, “meron ba kami nun?”

Haha! Minus 10 points. Well to be honest, I was not satisfied with their Foot Scrub service, I should have tried the massage instead. Nakakatulog pa yung naka-assign mag scrub sakin. Geez. Maganda lang is that you get to watch tv while they do the service and 1 tv is to 1 customer.

May pagka-konserbatibo ako at ayaw ko i-expose ang aking skeleton in public so I really can’t get naked in spas. Kaya na culture shock ako that everyone in the pool was naked and staring at me kasi ako lang yung naka bath robe. Wahaha! I didn’t stay long because I also can’t stand seeing lesbo couples kissing and all. Ack! Help me Lord!

The only thing worth staying is the food-slash-tambay session with friends. The food is unlimited buffet though rice meals are out by 12midnight. The food is not so sarap but tastes fine. We just consumed the time left eating shabu-shabu in the dining area.

Taking pictures is not allowed inside so I can’t show a tour. So for some people who are planning to go there, I just recommend 1) Midnight time para hindi crowded since they run 24 hours. 2) Go here with friends and 3) Foot Spa Terrific isn’t terrific after all.

Pambaha Boots

Lumaki akong marunong mag commute at lumulusong sa baha kaya parang trip ko yata mag-bota sa darating na rainy season…

…but of course, with style.

I was delighted when I first saw the latest C2 commercial where two girls are playing in the rain while wearing pairs of lovely Pambaha Boots. I haven’t gone to the mall lately so I have no idea if stores are already selling this kind for the rainy months.

Now I want! Yun nga lang, it’s not so everywhere so people might be staring at my feet when I wear them, I assume.

Kate Spade? Emilio Pucci? Medyo mahal. So unfortunately, all I have is a pair of Advan…

Wahahaha. Yak.

Copycat

…Nahihirapan ako tanggapin na may copy cat ako dahil hindi naman ako fan ng kasabihan na: Immitation is the greatest form of flattery — and I guess that’s got allot to do with the fact that she really couldn’t pull off most of the things that she copied from me.

…Thanks a lot Miss Leyn.=( I would really appreciate it kung mabibigyan mo ako ng kahit na anong suggestion.=)

Dear littlemissagitated,

You know what, hindi ko palalagpasin na sagutan ito because we share the same sentiments. I already had an experience like this but of course I won’t mention details anymore ‘coz from what I heard, my copycats are also my readers. Haha…

Facebook Tagalog Quiz

Akshuli, I had no plans of updating my blog today. I was focusing on other things like some personal stuff, projects and facebook-ing. And while facebook-ing, then again, I was disturbed by one of those senseless Tagalog Quizzes displaying on my inbox…

Wahaha! Isa na to sa mga pinaka-harsh na nakita ko. Gumamit pa ng mga litrato ng mga walang kamuwang muwang na nilalang… parang ako lang. Haha!

Kaya ayun, I tried this also… and got the same result. Lol.

On the Job Training

…I’m sure that you already know, but finding an OJT/Internship as a student is pretty hard. There isn’t a real resource out there and as a student, we always end up getting stuck working in a boring company unrelated to our field, or we end up with a good company, have the work that’s right for us, but we end up making coffee for the bosses or stapling documents for them. It’s a classic, I know.

That’s why we decided to join together and come up with a real resource that would actually benefit students, whether from a private school or a university (after all, we are the future of the country right). We came out with a website called OJTCareers.com, which would bridge the gap between the students and employers and ultimately show them that we’re already competent enough for a real job. It is basically a free website that allows students to find available OJT jobs online…

This was a part of a campaign letter I received through email and the explanation follows.

I find these students’ cause very helpful especially for seniors who are preparing for internship. To be honest, I just faked my OJT way back and just pulled a few strings. Wenk. But for other soon-to-be professionals who are ready for the corporate challenge, looking for an On-the-Job Training won’t be too much pain in the rear…

Tadaaaa! This might be the answer to your upcoming search for employment. Browse na!
