Why Men Love Whisper?

Is it just me… or there’s something wrong with this ad?

While having random conversations with my friends, I came to realize that I’m not alone…

Leyn: naka puti pang pantalon eh no.
Popoy: nung bday ni gerald pinasalamatan nya yang whisper.
Leyn: may linya dun pag buong commercial, “you know why gerald love whisper?”
Leyn: parang sya gumagamit eh no.

Wahaha! Thanks to these concerned people who inspired me to post this. I just hope you get our point. :P

Well hello there, it’s my Birthday!

You guys made me feel alive again.

Wahaha. Drama?

Minsan lang to, parang eclipse… :D

Natasha: Ang Damit ng Bayan

I saw this familiar looking top in my mom’s closet and asked her where she got it. Sabi niya, she bought it from our maid para makatulong. Huh? I was very sure I already saw it somewhere pero nakalimutan ko lang na para bang dejavu

Then I just realized, it was one of those recognizable clothes from Natasha.

This blouse is sooo everywhere. And so far, I’ve been seeing a lot of people wearing these two designs:

Inexpensive and convenient: reasons why people are hooked with RTWs from AVON, Natasha, MSE etc. Well for girls on a budget, I’m not totally discouraging you to order from these sellers. Perhaps you could just pick those plain looking shirts to be safe.  The disadvantage of buying clothes from “walking catalogs” is that you could bump into someone with the exact same dress.

Eck. Awkward diba? :S

Petite Problem

Dear Sosyalera,

I am one of your million fans here sa net. From blogspot plang, you already got my full support. I am happy that you got your own domain na. Apir! Long live sa iyong dotnet.

Since model ka, I assume na biniyayaan ka ng tangkad and wala kang problem regarding clothes. Hay buti ka pa. Yan kasi ang problem ko, I only stood 4 feet and 11 inches lng kasi. My body is quite proportion and I dont have any problem about that.Yung height ko lang tlga nakakasira. Super hirap ako maghanap ng right clothes kc nga I am short. Sa ngayon, I try to run away from jeans and look for other options. Any suggestions leyn? thanks!

Alea

Dear Alea,

Thanks for supporting! Haha! Anyway, much appreciated!

Actually, I’m not über tall. My height is 5′6 lang. Fair enough compared to other *giant* ramp models. Though my thin and long arms make me look skinnier so I expose this asset. Basically, you have to be conscious of your lean parts and know how to flaunt them.

Tips for Petite Fashion:

1) If you’ll be layering clothes or dress in several pieces, you have to stick in one color. Dark tones like black, navy blue and maroon can make you look slimmer…

Photo Polished Much

I’m really captivated with posters and billboards applied with neat Post Production effects. I think Penshoppe Billboards for this season look nice with their sun kissed models and white wigs. I’m just not sure who’s the girl on this photo that gives the downside. Maybe the designers we’re too preoccupied polishing photos so the skin texture was so perfected that celebrities are hardly recognized.

Relating to this, Picture editing for ads doesn’t have to be crucial if you have beautiful  models with perfect skin. Just like these layouts…

Model: Joana Tan

No Photoshop enhancement applied here. Looks like Anne Curtis, right? But no. Sure bet she’s sweeter than Anne. And thanks to the lovebirds for lending me the photos. ;)

Last weekend, I watched  You Changed My Life with some friends para maiba naman ang kajologang trip. Well, the movie is erm… cute. And Star Cinema indeed has a thing with Weird Hairstyles.

I understand, having a trademark hairstyle can be a technique for the characters’ personalities to be remembered. Pero, sino ba namang maglolosyang na buhok like these, especially if you have the face? Are wigs included in costume design? Then I give the designer 1 point for effort.

Hay nako, they should have hired my friends instead…

Try blonde.

Barbie Doll turns 50!

0

It’s the 50th birthday of the world’s most famous doll! But even though Barbie’s now 50, she still looks perfect, elegant, fashionable and literally plastic. Anyhow, I’m not aware that the Barbie Doll “look” has evolved na. Medyo naging chinky ang mata at naging realistic ang face.

To give tribute to Barbie’s 50th year, Mattel introduced a new doll edition for 2009. And now I want one!  Parang Hollywood Celebrity ang dating and it’s specially made for Barbie Doll Collectors.

But the world isn’t kind to plastic dolls. Barbie also had controversies before. I had my mom’s first Barbie doll and I noticed that its old version had nice looking body with curves (minus the detailed genitals of course); compared to the modern Barbie with box-typed torso and false-figured boobs.  Yun pala, for the past years, cases had been indicted that Barbie Dolls are being used for sexual acts and pedophile exploitation. Wenk! So, Mattel Inc. changed her sexy form into a doll-looking built so perverts won’t abuse this child’s plaything.

And now on youtube, there are Barbie porn videos where dolls are naked and dubbed by sick people. Haha. Ang sagwa… and looks so wrong.

Pero kahit gawan pa sya ng scandal, I still adore this toy. Apart from all the Hannah Montana and technology craze, I’d still buy Barbie Dolls for my future daughter someday.

Happy Birthday Barbie!

Skinny Chic

Dear Sosyalera,

Dahil expert po kayo sa Fashion, sa inyo na lang ako hihingi ng advice about it. Hehe.

Ang get up ko lang po madalas ay tee, jeans, flip-flops/sandals – which I know is baduy na lalo na sa panahon ngayon. I’m 17 year old, medyo skinny with curves ang katawan ko. Can you tell me what clothes will fit my body and the best store to shop for those? I also love layering clothes and I want to ask advice of what clothes are best for layering.

As much as I want to wear shorts outsides, I can’t. Kasi may mga scars ako na nakuha ko nung high school which are visible lalo na sa kulay ng balat ko (maputi). Can you also recommend any medicines/lotion na pwedeng pang lighten ng scars that really works?

And kind of unrelated: Magkano dapat budget whenever magsa-shopping?

Thank you so much Ms. Leyn and more power to Sosyalera!

- Den

Dear Den,

As you can read, a lot of full sized people are having problems with choosing their clothes as sizes are limited. With your case, you might be feeling uninterested with the usual tee & jeans outfit however having skinny built isn’t a big problem. Diba nga, models almost starve themselves for thinner bodies so they can fit in size 0. So enjoy, you can wear almost everything!

Fashion Homonyms

tantan: oo pang babae yung content e
leyn: yaan mo na, fashion site yan
tantan: nagbabasa na tuloy ako ahahah
tantan: teka ano yung LBD?
tantan: LIBIDO?
leyn: gago!
leyn: Little Black Dress
leyn: HAHAHA

Like ew.

Bolero – lalaking mahilig mambola? Pwede, pero hindi. Isa itong jacket na maikli.

Tanga – o wag mo dibdibin.

Akalain mo nga namang fashion terms sila diba? Kaya hinay hinay lang sa pag-iinterpret. At ang LBD nga pala ay Little Black Dress pertaining to black cocktail dresses na pinausong term ni Coco Chanel.

:D
