CON CUT? Na Cut na Concert!
The Eraserheads Reunion has been the talk of the town for the past few weeks. Cancelled once because of Marlboro’s pulled out sponsorship, the event still pushed through with restrained notice and advertisements.
Of course, yours truly, Sosyalera was there.
After having dinner at High Street, we were listening to the band and noticed that Ely Buendia was wearing a pair of shades while performing. The first set lasted 1 and a half hour starting 8 pm. After that, there was this 15 minute break triggered by a timer countdown on the big screen… and history follows.
20 minutes na, tahimik parin ang stage. Then suddenly, Ely Buendia’s sister grabbed the stage for a stunning announcement – the concert is cut short because Ely got rushed to the hospital due to emotional stress. Stroke perhaps. There’s this news that his mother died 2 days before the concert. Almost everyone was in shock; I didn’t even hear loud BOOs from the audience. Sigh for me, I thought I’d be able to hear them perform my fave E-heads song Huling El Bimbo.
And the night ended with a consequence.

I got to meet some friends who were in the actual concert.
Honestly, I feel sorry for 1) Ely Buendia and 2) the people who spent a thousand bucks for the ticket, came late and entered the grounds at the exact time the concert was cut.
Malas.
But LEGENDARY. Thanks to Eraserheads for capturing the hearts of many.
